2009 VALERIE’S VINEYARD
“One-Acre”
PINOT NOIR
CARNEROS

The 7th vintage, the 2009 Valerie’s Vineyard Pinot Noir continues where
each previous vintage left off, incredible! Valerie’s one-acre Carneros
vineyard is really coming of age and we think that vintage to vintage this one
is another winner.  The winemaking and attention to detail has never been
better.  We have had solid success with the last vintage in New York and
locally and we received some great press including feature coverage in the
Pinot File and Sonoma Magazine.  Like every vintage, the 08 is now sold-out.

The 09 extols a rich velvety mouth-feel and well balanced fruit, oak and
tannins.  The cherry/plum flavors blend with traditional Burgundian nuisances
such as cola and tea.
The French oak program of new and two-year old French oak from
numerous makers has created a unique flavor profile and aging regimen.
The wine lives no less than 18 months in the oak. With consistent
winemaking and vineyard practices, the terroir of this one-acre vineyard has
taken hold.

There were only 75 cases produced of 09.  The wine retails at $40 bottle
depending where it is purchased. Get this while you can from fine restaurants
in Sonoma Valley including Della Santina, Saddles, Carneros Bistro and
Sonoma Meritage plus Broadway market. The wine is available at Hi-Time
Cellars in Costa Mesa www.hitimecellars.net (for shipping) and the Hobbit
Restaurant.  Ice Bucket Selections in New York is doing great work and has
placed the wine at Bar Boulud, Blue Hill, Print. and P.D. O’Hurley’s West
End.  Visit us at www.valeriesvineyard.com or valeriesvineyard@gmail.com

The 2006 Valerie's Vineyard Carneros Pinot Noir is estate grown and
organically hand-farmed in Carneros less than 500 feet from the appellation
line with Sonoma Valley. The wine was made again by B.R. Cohn wine maker
Tom Montgomery. 132 cases were produced, with the vineyard yielding just
under two tons per acre. The wine was released March 2008. The wine was
aged in a mix of new and two-year old French oak barrels for 17 months.
Alcohol is 14.1%. The wine exhibits the vineyards sense of place and exudes
cola, cherry/plum fruit and a creamy mouth feel. This Burgundian styled wine
is a perfect match to food.

The first release was a 2003 made at B.R. Cohn. The vintage only yielded 20
cases and was consumed by the three partners.

The 2004 vintage was the first commercial release, selling out and receiving
a 90 score from the
Pinot Report with the following quote, "The Pinot from
Valerie's Vineyard is a truly interesting wine from what appears to be a great
micro-site in the western Carneros." 42 cases were made.

The
2005 Valerie's Vineyard Carneros Pinot Noir was harvested in mid-
September after excellent growing conditions and picked at 24.5 brix. The
wine was crushed, cellared and produced at B.R. Cohn Winery under the
careful hands of Cohn wine maker Tom Montgomery in a Burgundian style.
The wine was bottled in April 2007. The
Pinot Report noted the 2005 as
"complex and earthy...really interesting" The
Pinot Report awarded it 91
points. 60 cases were produced and the wine retails at $44.95. The wine is
sold-out.

The partners include long-time Sonoma pr man Michael Coats and wife
Valerie; her father and mother Chuck and Jerry Hanson of Hi-Time Cellars
fame and Valerie's sister Vicki Brown. All the partners work in the vineyard.
Local vineyard guru Phil Coturri consults with the partners and oversees the
vineyard annually. The one-acre vineyard was planted in 2000 by long-time
vineyard man Chuy Ordaz on resistant root stock and a secret Russian River
clone. The land, a former plum orchard, exudes rich cherry and cola flavors
in each vintage.
